Transferring

If you are currently enrolled in school that does not offer a Technology Education degree but you are interested in teaching technology, you may consider transferring to a school that does. Many courses will transfer between institutions easily. If you are interested in transferring, begin by contacting the transfer counselor or program coordinator of the institution you are considering attending. A list of institutions in your area can be found on the undergraduate programs page. They will help you determine your path to transferring as well as which classes will transfer into your desired program and what remaining classes you will need.

The NJ Transfer website may be especially helpful to those that are considering transfer to and from New Jersey institutions.

Sometimes, students may find that the admissions requirements for transfer students are a bit more relaxed than those for incoming freshmen. A plan for a current high school student may be to begin their studies at one of the county colleges in New Jersey then plan to transfer to an institution that offers a Technology Education program.

Be sure to not wait too long if you are considering transferring, as most institutions require that you complete at least 30 credits at that institution for graduation.

If you have specific questions about transferring, consider contacting the individuals listed on the undergraduate programs page, or send an inquiry to info@teachtechnj.org.
