Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

Students with a baccalaureate degree and interest in teaching may earn a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and a gain a teaching certificate simultaneously.

In general, students must meet a thirty credit undergraduate content area requirement and obtain a sufficient score on a graduate school entrance exam, depending on the program. A MAT program includes a student teaching experience and can be taken full-time often within an academic year with two summers or part-time.

The College of New Jersey has a MAT program for Technology Education and is seeking a cohort of students to begin study in the summer session and conclude the following summer session. For more information about the MAT program at The College of New Jersey, contact Department Chair, Dr. John Karsnitz or click here.
